THE TODDLER'S COMMUNITY
This environment welcomes your children aged 2 to 3.
THE PRINCIPLE
TEACH ME TO BE MYSELF
The Toddler's Community is the continuation of the Nido. It is the second stage of the learning cycle according to the thinking of Maria Montessori. It welcomes children from the age of 2 to 3.
This environment is prepared in the form of discovery areas: practical life, the senses, language, as well as motor and artistic activities. It is designed through the placement of objects, tidying, logic and the graduation of small exercises, to help develop your child's motor skills, autonomy and awareness.
There's a kitchen and dining area to teach your child how to use cutlery and sit at the table. Each room has its own sleeping area, for resting at naptime, and a diaper-changing area to encourage potty training.
We've organized and adapted it to your child's age, making it cozy, orderly and reassuring. The materials used come from a manufacturer approved by the Association Montessori Internationale.
Your child will be accompanied by a French-speaking Montessori educator and an English-speaking Montessori educator, both graduates of the Association Montessori Internationale.

A TYPICAL DAY
HAPPINESS AND GOOD CHEER!
Your child is accompanied into the changing room of his or her environment, and learns to take off his or her coat and put on his or her slippers. The first to arrive already start work while waiting for the environment to be complete.
Depending on each child's rhythm and sensitive period, this is the time to propose activities: learning eye-hand coordination, balance and locomotion activities, stereognostic activities, learning language, music and art. Your child will also learn grace and courtesy, as well as practical life skills: personal care, care of the indoor and outdoor environment, moving furniture and sitting down.
It's time for the morning ritual, with songs, rhymes and stories told in English by the English-speaking educator.
It's also a time of learning and conviviality. Meals are taken at the table with adults. Children learn how to set the table, use food and water, handle cutlery, sit and eat properly, and clear the table at the end of the meal. A hot, well-balanced lunch is delivered every day, using organic/local ingredients. Weather permitting, we enjoy lunch outside!
It's time to get ready for naptime: the little ones are changed and the older ones go to the toilet.
Rest time is important and will take into account the needs of each child. A dedicated sleeping area is set aside in a rest room equipped with floor cots, so that children can get in and out of bed on their own. The child's bed is personalized, sleep patterns are respected, and waking up is done in a calm, staggered manner according to each child's rhythm.
The children enjoy a daily outing to a park right next to the school, except of course in the event of very bad weather.
Reunion time!
